Ether…. “The one river from which the other four rivers arise”
In Polarity sessions most of our time together is focused on bodywork.
Polarity Bodywork can range from deep structural work, to nervous system and elemental balancing techniques.
Today’s post is the first in a series on the qualities of the five universal elements and how they manifest through our actions, words, thoughts, emotions, behaviour and physical state. Because we are part of nature we too, experience the elements within our being.
In this first post we will be exploring the Ether element
THE ETHER ELEMENT
Ether governs: Space, subtle energy, neutrality, stillness, hearing, speaking, self esteem, the inner self & the outer environment.
BODY MIND & EMOTIONS
The Ether element in the body relates to space including the space between our cells, organs, body cavities and joints. Ether also corresponds to the thumb the big toe, the neck, the throat and the midline of the body. Too much ether can manifest as feeling ungrounded, scattered and spaced out whilst too little ether can manifest as feelings of heaviness, sadness & grief.
QUESTIONS FOR THE ETHER ELEMENT
Do you have enough space in your body and your life?
Are you able to be still?
Are you able to express yourself?
Are you able to be creative?
ETHER ELEMENT ISSUES
- A tight neck,
- Overall body tension,
- Joint pain & compression.
- feelings of depression & grief
- Feeling stuck
- Difficulties with self expression
- Difficulties with self esteem
BALANCED ETHER
Promotes feelings of oneness, openness & peace, & the ability to be creative and freely express who you are.
ETHER ELEMENT BODYWORK
Ether bodywork is deeply calming and relaxing and can be beneficial for addressing overall tension in the body and compressive conditions.
It helps bring about more space and openness so that feelings and emotions can move and be worked through.
