“If we accept that the symbolic construction of pain and bodily dis-ease, reflects the efforts of the Self to communicate its conflicts, dreams and aspirations, then we are ready to ask how to converse with and minister to the body self”. ~ Dr Leslie Korn Phd

Approach

Greetings my name is Sula I have been involved in Holistic Healthcare and touch based modalities since the late 1980’s and if there’s one thing I’ve learnt, it’s that: bodies talk and I’m here to listen.

I offer a personalised approach to therapy that integrates, somatic knowledge and listening touch, with energy work, based on your goals for each session and what your body presents as being the greatest priority and need.

Modalities

Craniosacral Therapy & Polarity Therapy, form the basis of my practice both of which can be deeply restorative for the nervous system and especially helpful where energetic and emotional balance needs to be restored.

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues, including, back pain, whiplash, sports injuries, TMJ, post dental recovery and persistent conditions that haven’t responded to other forms of treatment, that can’t be explained or seem to have no apparent cause.

I work with people of all ages from infants to children, teens, adults and elders with a special interest, in supporting parents and their children, from the beginning of life.

My Story

I know what it’s like to live in a body that feels like a mystery, where strange symptoms come and go and no-one can explain why.

I was a young woman in my mid twenties and like many people navigating complex health issues, I was constantly told, “We can’t find anything wrong”, whilst my body was telling me otherwise.

I knew I had to rely upon myself, to find solutions and things finally began to shift, when I began exploring other ways to heal, which led me to changing my whole life.

In the early 1990’s, I met my first major bodywork teacher, the late William ‘Dub’ Leigh (USA) master, Rolfer and Feldenkrais practitioner. Through Dub’s hands-on teaching, of deep tissue bodywork, I learned how our bodies hold onto everything, the stress we normalise, the grief we suppress and the trauma and for the first time I experienced what it was like to actually be in my own body.

In the mid 1990’s, through experiencing subtle bodywork, my eyes were opened to the power of a gentler approach. I experienced for myself that less, can actually be more and that often, the subtlest work can be the deepest. Through these experiences, I realized, this was the way I wanted to work with people, ‘listening’ and ‘following the body’s lead’ and with the help of many fine teachers, I fell in love with this work.

I’m dedicated to life long learning and for more information on my studies, training and experience please click here.
