About Me

“The body has its own wisdom and can be trusted”

~ Wyoma – African Healing Dance

“If we accept that the symbolic construction of pain and bodily dis-ease, reflects the efforts of the Self to communicate its conflicts, dreams and aspirations, then we are ready to ask how to converse with and minister to the body self”. ~ Dr Leslie Korn Phd

Restoring Health From The Inside Out

Welcome

My name is Sula and I’m based in South London, (UK).

How Can I Help?

From my own health journey and from professional experience, if there’s one thing I’ve learnt, it’s that: bodies talk and I’m here to listen.

I have deep respect for the wisdom of the body and the mind-body-spirit connection.

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues including people recovering from accidents, injuries and surgery. Back, neck and shoulder pain that involve chronic stress. Persistent conditions that may not have responded to other forms of treatment and conditions that can’t be explained, or seem to have no apparent cause.

Craniosacral Therapy and Polarity Therapy form the basis of my practice, both of which can be deeply restorative for the nervous system and especially helpful where energetic and emotional balance needs to be restored.

The modalities I offer combine well with most approaches, including talking therapies.

I work with people of all ages from infants to children, teens, adults and elders with a special interest in working with women before and during pregnancy and the post partum period.

My Story

In the late 1980’s, health challenges, set me on an independent learning track.

When chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) emerged in the 1980’s it was not well understood, so like many people experiencing complex health issues, I was unable to find appropriate help.

Knowing it was time to start, educating myself, I began learning how to build myself up from a cellular level in order to get my core strength back.

I sought out ways to soothe my body with exquisite care and was especially helped by various forms of bodywork.

In the early 1990’s, I met my first major bodywork teacher, the late William ‘Dub’ Leigh (USA) master, Rolfer and Feldenkrais practitioner.

It was through Dub’s practical teachings of deep tissue bodywork, that I truly began to appreciate how the body reflects the story of our life.

Less Can Be More

Following a severe whiplash injury, Craniosacral Therapy helped me to recover without the long term effects which can occur, if not appropriately treated. Coming from a background in therapeutic massage and deep tissue bodywork, the realization that such a gentle approach, could achieve such efficient and effective results, was an eye opening experience.

Intrigued by the notion of deep listening, intervening less and achieving more, I graduated in Craniosacral Therapy in 1994 and Polarity Therapy in 1999, both of which have made my practice, vastly more effective. For more information on my studies, training and experience please click here.
