Supporting Health through Therapeutic Bodywork

Welcome

My name is Sula and I’m based in London, UK.

Having been a wellness and bodywork practitioner since the mid 1980’s, if there’s one thing I’ve learnt – it’s that bodies talk and I’m here to listen.

Scope of Practice

I help people with a wide range of issues from simple aches and pains to persistent conditions that may not have responded to other forms of treatment and conditions that can’t be explained, or seem to have no apparent cause.

I work (primarily) with Craniosacral Therapy and Polarity Therapy both of which can be deeply restorative for the nervous system and helpful in situations where energetic and emotional balance needs to be restored.

The modalities I offer combine well with most modalities including cognitively focused work such as counselling and psychotherapy.

I work with people of all ages from infants to children, teens, adults and elders with a particular interest in supporting mothers in laying a foundation of health during the child rearing years.

Beginnings

I learnt early on in life, that I was not cut out for the fast lane and that when you go too fast and push too hard, your body will eventually stop you, by making you ill.

Unable to live the same way and do the same things, I began noticing, that I felt more tired and stressed when exposed to certain foods, pollutants and environments which drew me to the natural healing arts, to seek the answers, mainstream healthcare didn’t have for me.

The body-based healing arts proved to be a key part of my recovery and in the early 1990’s I met my first major teacher, the late William ‘Dub’ Leigh (USA) master, Rolfer and Feldenkrais practitioner.

It was through Dub’s teachings of deep tissue bodywork, that I became aware of how the body holds onto emotional patterns of the past and how the long-term, cumulative impact of ‘undigested’ stress, can contribute significantly, towards health issues in adulthood.

Less Can Be More

Following a severe whiplash injury, Craniosacral Therapy helped me to recover without the long term effects which can occur, if left untreated or inadequately addressed. Coming from a background in deep tissue bodywork, the realization that such a gentle, approach could achieve such efficient and effective results was an eye opening experience.

Totally intrigued by the notion of intervening less, whilst achieving more, I began my professional training in Craniosacral Therapy at CTET London in 1994. Then in 1999 I completed the Polarity Therapy practitioner training with Morag Campbell and Phil Young of Masterworks International, eventually completing the Polarity Therapy instructor training in 2023.
