About Me

“The body has its own wisdom and can be trusted”

~ Wyoma – African Healing Dance

“If we accept that the symbolic construction of pain and bodily dis-ease, reflects the efforts of the Self to communicate its conflicts, dreams and aspirations, then we are ready to ask how to converse with and minister to the body self”. ~ Dr Leslie Korn Phd

Restoring Health From The Inside Out

Welcome

My name is Sula and I’m based in South London, (UK).

How Can I Help?

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt, from my experiences as a bodywork practitioner, since the mid 1980’s, it’s that, bodies talk and I’m here to listen.

I have deep respect for the wisdom of the body and the connection between, body, mind and emotions.

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues including back, neck and shoulder pain, persistent conditions that may not have responded to other forms of treatment and conditions that can’t be explained, or seem to have no apparent cause.

Craniosacral Therapy and Polarity Therapy form the basis of my practice, both of which can be deeply restorative for the nervous system and helpful where energetic and emotional balance needs to be restored.

The modalities I offer combine well with most modalities including talking therapies as physically processing emotional issues and chronic stress held in the body supports the work of counselling and psychotherapy.

I work with people of all ages from infants to children, teens, adults and elders with a special interest in working with women leading up to and during pregnancy and where possible provide, local postpartum home visits, for mothers recovering from the intense experience of giving birth.

Beginnings

In the late 1980’s, health challenges, set me on an independent learning track of seeking answers, that mainstream healthcare didn’t have for me.

Determined to be well, I started researching all things health, which began with learning, how to build myself up from a cellular level and finding ways to get my core strength back.

I sought out modalities of many kinds and was especially helped by various forms of bodywork. In the early 1990’s, I met my first major bodywork teacher, the late William ‘Dub’ Leigh (USA) master, Rolfer and Feldenkrais practitioner.

It was through Dub’s teachings of deep tissue bodywork, that I experienced, how the body manifests emotions physically, as tension and restriction and how, the unseen, cumulative impact of ‘undigested’, stress can contribute significantly, towards health issues throughout life.

Less Can Be More

Following a severe whiplash injury, Craniosacral Therapy helped me to recover without the long term effects which can occur, if not appropriately treated. Coming from a background in therapeutic massage and deep tissue bodywork, the realization that such a gentle approach, could achieve such efficient and effective results, was an eye opening experience.

Intrigued by the notion of intervening less and achieving more I graduated in Craniosacral Therapy with CTET London in 1994 which marked the beginning of widening my skills in a bio-energetic approach to health. For more information on my credentials and experience please click here.
